Personal Running Technique Coach

The fastest & easiest way to make the basics of great running technique automatic and permanent!

  • Much better speed improvement than super shoes
  • Makes running more fun!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Featured in this great article from Outside Magazine!

The FloatRun Harness is a coach that is with you every step of every run until beautiful form becomes muscle memory.

The FloatRun Harness gives you proud, tall posture by placing you in proper “elbows back” arm position---which is the key to efficient, low impact running form, and contributes to:

  • Quick speed improvements (up to 30 seconds per mile)
  • Low Impact Landing Under a Bent Knee
  • Increased Cadence

Simply put the big opening of the FloatRun harness on like a jacket (both straps behind your back---one above the shoulders and one below) & place thumbs in the loops under the armpits. Don't stretch the thumb loops while focusing on keeping the elbows back & moving the arms as little as necessary to learn to:

  • Avoid over-striding by not letting elbows forward of hips
  • Adopt proud, tall posture
  • Keep the wrists near the ribs for max efficiency
  • Minimize forward arm motion & energy wasting asymmetry

After 6+ weeks of using the FloatRun Harness, efficient running form with proud posture, high cadence, and low-impact landings will become second nature. It's like being a runner reborn!

Research has shown that running technique improvement can reduce injuries by 62% & increasing cadence is very effective in reducing forces on the body.

To quickly adopt beautiful, Kenyan-style running technique, simply put on the harness and focus on:

  1. Not stretching the thumb loops forward much, if any
  2. Popping the elbows back & don't let them come forward of the hips
  3. Moving your arms as little as necessary for the pace you're going
  4. RELAX (People tend to tense up when doing new movements)

That's it! Doing this will ensure great posture, and help you dial in your ideal foot-strike and cadence. More fun, less pain, and quicker times may shortly follow!

SIZING: Sizing roughly corresponds to unisex T-shirt size. However, a Medium Harness will fit like a Small when twisted to figure 8 configuration (see images). A Large will fit like a Medium when twisted as well.  If you wear a Large t-shirt and are closer to a medium than you are to an XL, get a Medium harness, unless you will use the Figure 8 Configuration.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How often should I wear the FloatRun Harness?
A: It should be worn nearly every run for 6-12 weeks. The more it is worn, the sooner your improved technique will become second nature. After that, we suggest pulling the harness out once a month for a check up and tuneup.

Q: Do you offer bulk pricing for school groups, large running clubs, or coaching?
A: YES! Our mission is to improve running technique everywhere as quickly as possible. We will practically give these away for schools, youth groups, and other large training groups.

Q: How long will the FloatRun Harness Last?
A: A long time. The harness should last around a year if treated well, and could potentially last decades if treated right (kept clean and out of the sun and heat, etc.)
Q: How do I know if my FloatRun Harness fits correctly?
A: The harness should fit relaxed but snug around the shoulders without being too loose in the back or under the armpits. It should pull just enough to remind you to keep your shoulders back. Because it is very stretchy, it's hard to get the sizing wrong. If you bought a size closest to your unisex t-shirt size, it should fit well.

Q: What should it feel like?
A: That depends on the runner. However, generally speaking it may feel very different at first. It will remind your to keep your shoulders back and adopt proud, tall posture. Likely, your arms will be much further back and move much less than you are used to. This will all start to feel fairly normal within a few weeks.

Q: How do I know if I'm using the FloatRun Harness correctly?
A: It's pretty simple, follow the directions of how to put it on and run, while focusing on three things:
1) Don't stretch the thumb loops much, if any.
2) Keep your elbows back.
3) Move your arms as little as necessary for the pace you are going. Pump the elbows back to accelerate.

I have a small upper body, and this device is too big to work for my size. Well, at least that’s what I think the problem is. Didn’t seem to do anything for my form and posture . If this is unisex sizing, I assume the small will not fit a good amount of smaller women.

A gentle form cue reminder

I purchased this product after listening to Golden on Rick Rubins podcast, and figured It might help my running form. I am a 41 year old female marathoner. My arms like to cross my torso, especially when I am fatigued. The float harness has been helpful so far at keeping my arm position more favorable, ultimately keeping my torso upright, with an increasingly tall, proud posture. My cadence has increased slightly, from 178-180spm to now about 183spm. I'm not getting chaffed in my armpit area from poor arm form so far, as I used to. I've only used the harness for about 2 weeks now, prob on about 12 runs ranging from 6-12 miles. With intervals in which I'm pushing my pace you have ability to keep thumbs in loops and open up stride, or remove them easily (so you maintain longevity of harness). I think it's a good tool to add to your running. I live in NY and it has been cold. The harness can be worn over a jacket, or flush with your running shirt/sports bra/bare skin. I have done both, and have not gotten chaffed from the harness itself.

The Magic Pill for Running

I wish I'd had this 25 years ago when I first started running! I've always had a love hate relationship with running, and am a sloooow, back of the pack kind of runner. Well, apparently that may be partially because my form was horrible!?
I stumbled across this when searching for ways to fix my chronic shin splints and figured why not since it was so cheap. I've been using this for about 3 weeks and I'm blown away.
My pace has increased by a full 1-2min per mile, and it feels like LESS effort. I get why they call it the float run, because I literally feel like I'm floating.
Too soon to tell for the shin splints but I'll try to check back in down the road and report on if it helped.
After my first time wearing it I could feel my glutes engaged in a new way. It definitely takes some time to develop strength in your back to keep the correct posture, but every run I keep getting stronger and last longer in proper posture. My cadence is right between 165-170 using this. The info on the booklet was really helpful too.
I've been telling everyone about this, I wish it had more publicity and marketing because it is truly a game changer, probably the best thing I've ever found to help with running. I'm very, very grateful for this product, thank you so much!
